RENEWABLE POWER PURCHASE & SALE AGREEMENTS
Represented Capital Power to secure predictable and stable long-term cash flows:
25-year virtual renewable energy and environmental attributes purchase and sale agreement with Telus Communications for Capital Power’s Strathmore Solar Facility.
15-year virtual renewable energy and environmental attributes purchase and sale agreement with Shaw Communications for a portion of Capital Power’s Clydesdale Solar Facility.
15-year virtual renewable energy and environmental attributes purchase and sale agreement with Labatt Breweries of Canada for a portion of Capital Power’s Clydesdale Solar Facility.
15-year direct sales agreement for renewable energy and environmental attributes with Dow Chemical Canada for a portion of Capital Power’s Whitla Wind 2 Facility.
15-year virtual renewable energy and environmental attributes purchase and sale agreement with Saputo Inc. for a portion of Capital Power’s Halkirk 2 Wind Facility.
10-year virtual renewable energy and environmental attributes purchase and sale agreement with MEGlobal Canada for a portion of Capital Power’s Whitla Wind 1 Facility.
CLEAN ENERGY & REC RETAIL SUPPLY AGREEMENT
Represented Capital Power in completing a 23-year clean electricity and renewable energy certificate retail supply agreement with the Government of Canada, for a portion of Capital Power’s Halkirk 2 Wind Facility, and to meet the power needs of all Government of Canada buildings in Alberta.
INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT AND COLLABORATION
Represented Capital Power in completing four participation and equity option agreements with the Louis Bull Tribe, the Ermineskin Cree Nation, the Montana First Nation and the Samson Cree Nation of the Maskwacis First Nations. Through the agreements the four First Nations have the option of acquiring a combined total of 25% equity interest in Capital Power’s Halkirk 2 Wind project.
DERIVATIVES REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Established and chaired the Canadian Energy Derivatives Working Group.
Served on drafting committees of the International Energy Credit Association and developed industry-standard derivatives regulatory compliance documentation.
Served as a member of the Alberta Securities Commission’s Derivatives Advisory Committee.
